Toronto, Ontario – Award-winning comedian, bestselling author and creator of Comedic Meditation Carla Collins with big thanks to executive producer Millan Curry-Sharples, releases her new comedy album PandEPIC! on Friday, April 9th, 2021.
Spring is here. It’s a time of hope and optimism and like the seasonal tulips, most businesses and other non-essential services, Carla’s mouth has also reopened.
Recorded live at the legendary El Mocambo in the fall of 2020 in front of an intimate, government regulated crowd between shutdowns, our favourite Emotional Support Cougar provides a hilarious reprieve from the global plague and keeps us laughing through all things quarantine from A to Z (Amazon to Zuckerberg). Collins also waxes philosophically about life before Covid when our greatest concerns were JLo’s Superbowl halftime show pole dancing and Gwyneth Paltrow’s cooch candle, and riffs about Disney princesses, billionaires on blow and Put your Zoom call on mute (cuz it likely already is), sit back with some bubbles or the ones in your bubble, and discover exactly where Carla has a secret panic room , why she calls her breasts The Property Brothers and how, during the lockdown, she discovered she could channel a horny infinite intelligence source called Fernando, Abraham Hicks-style.
Now based in Los Angeles, Carla has spent much of the pandemic in her home and native land Canada, on her gay fiance’s horse farm north of Toronto with several animals including her beloved Chihuahua Dr Zira.
During her stay she has become a vegan, a cat person and perhaps, most shocking of all, a Katherine Heigl fan. (Firefly Lane was awesome, yo) and because podcasts became as mandatory as masks, Carla launched Carla Collins Rox the Elmo where she talks to rock stars, comedians and celebrities about how they are staying sane during the apocalypse. It’s where heavy metal meets mental health. Collins also co-hosts The Doucheless Vegan with entrepreneur Michael Stuart Webb. (Afore mentioned gay fiancé with whom she is writing a companion cookbook.)
Over the past year, Carla has continued to perform stand up and comedic meditations online, outdoors and in grocery stores against people’s wills and hopes to resume filming her first US comedy special produced by iconic comedian David Steinberg once our overlord Bill Gates has vaccinated and implanted enough of the population.
As Collins says: “You gotta keep laughing right now. Remember when they said the Corona virus could be spread through farts? Who would have thought we’d be living in a time where ‘Pull my finger!’ was considered uttering a death threat. We’ve been in lockdown so long I now have imaginary friends with benefits.”
